Park Place Christian Academy (PPCA) recently announced its Homecoming Court for 2021. PEARL – Secondary students at Park Place Christian Academy (PPCA) recently nominated and voted on the Homecoming Court for 2021-2022.

Selected as Homecoming Maids were four seniors and two young women from each of the freshman, sophomore, and junior classes.

Senior maids include Jaime Elizabeth Cumberland, Ashley Morgan Hester, Kennedy Claire Manning, and Emma Katherine Moore.

Miss Cumberland is the daughter of Phil and Veronica Cumberland of Richland, Miss.

Miss Hester is the daughter of Karl and Michelle Hester of Pearl, Miss.

Miss Manning is the daughter of Mark and Samantha Manning of Brandon, Miss.

Miss Moore is the daughter of Charles and Mindy Weathersby of Brandon, Miss.

Of these four, one young woman will be selected by the student body to be PPCA’s Homecoming Queen.

She will be presented during halftime (or earlier if weather demands it) of the Homecoming Game to be played on October 1st on H.F. Shepherd Field in Pearl.

The PPCA Crusaders coached by Doug Elkins, will face the Simpson Academy Cougars at 7:00 p.m.

Also serving on the Homecoming Court are young women chosen from the 9th, 10th, and 11th grades.

One junior maid is Carley Claire Dawkins, daughter of Lee (Trudy) Dawkins of Pelahatchie, and Carla (Wayne) Dearman, of Pearl.

The other junior maid is Anna Grace Watkins, daughter of Todd and Teresa Watkins of Pearl, Miss.

Sophomore maids are Ella Caroline Cruthirds, daughter of Andy and Andi Cruthirds of Brandon, Miss., and Abigail (Abi) Rae Thompson, daughter of William and Kristi Thompson of Brandon, Miss.

Selected as Freshman maids are Morgan Grace Brewer, daughter of Harold and Philandra Brewer of Brandon, and Kerri Kimora Coleman, daughter of Bridgett Coleman of Jackson, Miss.

Continuing the school tradition of serving as Homecoming Court flower girls and crown bearers are the children of PPCA’s faculty and staff members who are in second grade at PPCA.

The flower girls are Mattie Rollins Cliburn, daughter of Matt and Erin Cliburn, Alana Joy Harbison, daughter of Doc and Andrea Harbison, and Natalie Brooke Watkins, daughter of Brandon and Jessica Watkins.

Crown bearers are Austin James Gant, son of James and Brandi Gant, Joel Maddox McCullough, son of Brian and Kristy McCullough, and Evan Leroy Wallace, son of Brandon and Lisa Wallace.

The flower girls and crown bearers are residents of Brandon, Miss.

Prior to the Homecoming event, a special community-wide pep rally featuring the theme of “Home, Sweet Home” will be held at H.F. Shepherd Field in Pearl.

The Homecoming pep rally is scheduled for 5 p.m., Thursday, September 30, and will feature a parade of the Homecoming Court in convertibles around the football field, along with tailgating tents and family-friendly activities from each of PPCA’s K3-12th grade classes.
