PEARL — PPCA families are invited to gather this Friday night, August 13th at 6 p.m. in The GAPP (The Grove at Park Place) to Meet the Crusaders.

An annual, family-friendly event sponsored by the Booster Club, the evening is designed for PPCA athletes and coaches of fall sports to be introduced, beginning at 7 p.m.

“I’m very pleased that we can hold this event on our own campus this year,” said PPCA Head of School Jason Cook who also serves as Athletic Director Bobby Barrett,with  Assistant Athletic Director.

The GAPP is located behind the 201 and 301 school buildings, toward the site of new athletic fields.

The list of teams being introduced on Friday night includes all ages of cheer and football, cross country, girls’ soccer, boys and girls basketball (JV and Varsity), and girls’ softball.

Athletes are asked to wear their sports’ uniform if they have them or appropriate school uniform attire.

Everyone is asked to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets as this is an outdoor event.

Donations for PPCA’s athletic program will be accepted at The GAPP’s entrance.

The proceeds will go to help PPCA’s athletic program through the Booster Club.

Mike Morgan is the Booster Club president this year, with Kris Koziol as vice-president.

Joanna Sykes is the club’s secretary and Tiffani Stuart is the treasurer.

Everyone giving a donation will receive a ticket for a door prize drawing happening later that evening.

A “wish list” from each sport’s coach will be on display for families to help provide necessary gear.

PPCA’s Softball team is selling BBQ plate dinners and snow cones will also be available for purchase.

Partners’ ‘Sader Shack will be open for families to purchase Crusader gear, T-shirts, and sweatshirts.

A photo booth will also be on hand.

In the event of rain, Mr. Cook said, “A “scaled-back” version will occur in the gym.”
