PEARL – The Winter Guard squad of Park Place Christian Academy (PPCA) recently earned top honors in the Mississippi Indoor Association State Championship held in Jackson.

The eight-member team was selected as State Champions in the Guard Scholastic Novice A class.

Performing “The Lord’s Prayer (Deliver Us)” by the Christian musical group Selah, PPCA’s Winter Guard had its best season in school history.

The squad’s choreography was created by Mr. Elter Wilson and the young women are coached by Mrs. Kim Crawford, a secondary science teacher at PPCA.

Organized in 2015, PPCA’s Winter Guard had a very strong season, placing first at both the Pearl High School and Brandon High School contests, and second in their first competition of the year at Southaven High School.

This year PPCA’s Winter Guard is made up of three seniors, Faith Bishop, Megan Wells, and Jeanna Winborne.

Completing the squad are juniors Emma Harper, Eva Jones, and Abi Sensing, sophomore Anna Grace Watkins and freshman Meredith Green.

A fully accredited K3-12th grade school, PPCA is a ministry of Park Place Baptist Church where Dr. Keith Grubbs is the Senior Pastor.

PPCA offers a Biblically based Christian education to over 600 students from five different counties.
